Αρχίζοντας από τα νεανικά ταξίδια του ποιητή την περίοδο 1809-1811, ο συγγραφέας παρακολουθεί τα χρόνια της φήµης του στο Λονδίνο και της αυτοεξορίας του στην Ιταλία, που κορυφώθηκαν µε την απόφασή του να αφοσιωθεί στον αγώνα της ελληνικής ανεξαρτησίας.
